A God of Miracles

Today, a woman smoked her last cigarette ever. Today, a young man entered the temple to receive the Holy Endowment, when he was addicted to pornography just 6 months ago. Today, a man let the missionaries teach his family, and accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon. Today, a girl talked her boyfriend out of suicide. Today, a wayward daughter returned home. Today, a woman diagnosed with cancer prayed to her God for the first time in thirty years. Today, a couple less active for over 30 years committed to return to church. Today, miracles happen every day.

Many people feel the age of miracles is past, or miracles are unexplained science, or fragments of lore. But the prophets have said, "And now, O all ye that have imagined up unto yourselves a god who can do no miracles, I would ask of you, have all these things passed, of which I have spoken? Has the end come yet? Behold I say unto you, Nay; and God has not ceased to be a God of miracles" (Mormon 9:15).

Some may say the examples listed above are not miracles, because they do not show any supernatural power. But they all do! By the power of faith, the woman quit smoking. By the power of faith, the young man overcame addiction. By the power of faith, the same young man prepared to enter the Lord's house. All the people listed, "even all they who wrought miracles wrought them by faith" (Ether 12:16).

The Red Sea need not part, for God to wrought a miracle in a heart.
